The ingredients needed to make Dum Aloo Curry:
  1. Take 15-20 baby potatoes
  2. Get 3-4 kashmiri lal mirch powder
  3. Get As required Oil
  4. Prepare 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. Take 1 stick dalchini (Cinnamon)
  6. Get 2 big onion
  7. Get 2 big tomatoes
  8. Prepare As per taste Salt
  9. Make ready 3-4 spoons curd
  10. Make ready As per taste Red chilli powder
  11. Take 1.5 tsp coriander powder
  12. Take 2-3 pinch garam masala(homemade powder) else 1tsp (packet powder)
  13. Make ready 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Take 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  15. Make ready 1-2 spoons kasuri methi
Steps to make Dum Aloo Curry:
  1. Wash baby potatoes and give just one whistle on cooker.
  2. Peel them and prick all over the potatoes well with fork. Do not break the potatoes.
  3. Add 1-2 tsp kashmiri lal mirch and mix well.
  4. In pan heat 4-5 tsp oil and shallow fry these potatoes. Fry for 3-4 mins.
  5. Take out potatoes, in the same oil add jeera (cumin seeds), dalchini(Cinnamon), add chopped onion fry for 2 min. Then add chopped tomatoes mix salt and stir it.
  6. By the time tomatoes getting soft we will prepare curd paste.
  7. In bowl take curd, add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, 3-4 tsp kashmiri lal mirch (this will not be spicy), ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder. Mix well.
  8. Add this paste in onion tomatoes gravy. Add lil water. Boil. Once oil comes on top add fried potatoes and add water.
  9. Add kasuri methi. Cover and keep on low flame for 5 min. Done. Curry is ready.
