Hey everyone, it’s Brad, welcome to our recipe page. Today, we’re going to prepare a distinctive dish, taiwanese braised pork rice. It is one of my favorites food recipes. This time, I am going to make it a little bit unique. This will be really delicious.

Lu rou fan, a Taiwanese comfort food classic of braised pork belly over rice, is probably the best recipe to come out of our kitchen this month. The dish is a bit similar to the traditional Shanghainese dish, hong shao rou, or red cooked pork. We love that dish so much that we have TWO recipes for it. Braised pork rice (Chinese:卤肉饭; pinyin: lǔròufàn) is a popular rice dish commonly available throughout Taiwan.

Taiwanese braised pork rice is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It’s appreciated by millions daily. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes delicious. They’re nice and they look fantastic. Taiwanese braised pork rice is something which I have loved my whole life.

The ingredients needed to make Taiwanese braised pork rice:
  1. Prepare pork belly (you can choose a more fatty one if you like)
  2. Make ready red onion
  3. Prepare garlic
  4. Take light soy sauce生抽
  5. Make ready dark soy sauce老抽(for coloring)
  6. Get some salt and Black Pepper
  7. Take some shelled eggs (alternative)
  8. Prepare Sugar (crystal sugar is better)
  9. Prepare Rice
  10. Take dried tofu (alternative)

Ladle the braised pork over rice with some sauce. Top with an egg and vegetables. Use leaner ground pork (e.g. pork shoulder) as a substitute if the pork belly is too fatty. You also can make this dish in a rice cooker.

Instructions to make Taiwanese braised pork rice:
  1. 1.chop the pork belly into small strips
    1. turn to the high heat,stir fry the pork until meat become slightly brown and dewatered, let the fat melt.
    1. Chop the red onion and garlic into mince, stir fry them with pork
    1. Add sugar, fry them until melt and caramelized
    1. add soy sauce from the edge of the wok(it helps the sauce evaporated into the pork)
    1. Add hot water just over the meat
    1. add dark soy sauce for coloring
    1. add salt and black pepper, put some shelled eggs or dried tofu(豆干) cook for 15min
    1. pour some brasied pork with broth in your rice. lovely lu rou fan is done!😄😄 saviour for meat lover😂😂

Use leaner ground pork (e.g. pork shoulder) as a substitute if the pork belly is too fatty. You also can make this dish in a rice cooker. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions, then serve on rice.
